Would you like to have a Boyarde artwork on your phone?
I was asked to paint my Pop Art stamp on some iPhone cases especially for a press launch for a new boutique in London, with lucky people getting them in their goody bag! Below are examples of the designs that i have come up with since then. All my artwork focuses on Pop Art, re-contextualizing familiar imagery into the Pop Idiom. All the images i choose to contextualize, mish mash up, or be inspired by, are images you already know or feel that you know, addressing THE GAZE upon the female and her stereotypical role in society. The correct term is Scopophilia: the pleasure of Gazing, it is a term adopted by 1970’s feminist film critique Laura Mulvey, looking at all forms of gaze between the female subject and the viewer. I am concentrating on The Golden Age of Comics from the 1940-50s and Pulp Fiction novels, all of which are clearly created by men.
If you are interested in purchasing a phone cover, iPad cover or such, be it plastic, leather or fabric (not fake leather or certain impermeable fabrics), do get in touch via the Contact page on this blog, or email me direct at email@example.com. Each piece is a limited edition artwork by myself and is designed to last with a protective glaze but it is subject to wear and tear just like all other cases and should be treated with respect and love! There are specific designs available as limited editions, or i can do bespoke designs within the Pop Art style and genre that i focus on. Prices range from £30-250 going up to iPad covers. Enjoy!
